Meet Dr. Mughal

Choosing his profession was easy for Dr. Mughal -- medicine was the family orientation. His father, a Pakistani research scientist working in England, headed a team that developed pharmaceuticals now used worldwide. Growing up in the United Kingdom, young Naveed enjoyed science, especially biology, and earned top grades in advanced exams on his favorite subjects.

Medical school was the logical next step, and his choice was the University of Leeds, from which he obtained degrees in medicine and surgery. Still in England, he completed his residency and spent a year in family practice. Then he decided to study in-depth pediatrics and internal medicine. This would enable him to see patients of all ages.

That decision brought him in 1992 to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, for the dual residency in pediatrics and internal medicine. With that accomplishment behind him, he came to Paris in September 1996, trained to treat both children and adults.

Dr. Mughal and his wife, Maimoons, have three children. He enjoys tennis, computing, and languages -- three of which he speaks fluently.

Earned advanced level certification in biology, chemistry, and physics, awarded by the University of Oxford, England.

Received doctor of medicine and doctor of surgery degrees from the University of Leeds, England.

Completed family practice training at Dudley Road Hospital, University of Birmingham, England

1991
Completed family practice training at Burton Medical Centre, University of Southampton, England.

1996
Successfully completed residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Metrohealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
