When he arrived in Paris, he brought with him several distinctions in his field: He had won the Nat Koplar Award for Surgical Research in 1974, an article of his had appeared in the September 1974 issue of Archives in Surgery, and he had a paper presented in February 1975 at the American College of Cardiology meeting.
Dr. Haskell has made a name for himself in another area too, one totally removed from his abilities as a surgeon. Or maybe not -- those same sure hands produce needlework fine enough to win awards. In fact, because of his pastime the doctor has brought home several blue ribbons.
The father of two grown children, Dr. Haskell
is known for yet another major interest. Just get him started on the subject
of recycling!

and psychology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville -- holds
the distinction of being the first graduate to go on to medical school.

Received his M.D. from the University of Illinois
College of Medicine at Chicago.
