Mission Statement
The mission of the Foundation is to serve as a comprehensive source
of quality primary healthcare and to preserve future access to healthcare
for the citizens of Edgar County and surrounding communities. The Foundation's
role in the community is to work with residents, area healthcare providers,
and business to identify and respond to changing community healthcare needs
and the changing healthcare environment.
Our History
Family Medical Center was originally a physician
owned clinic operating in the Paris community for many years. In
1992 it was purchased by Paris Community Hospital
and following a major $3 million expansion, was relocated
to the new 13,330 square foot facility. The relocation of the Family
Medical Center provided convenient access to hospital services for patients.
It also offered efficient, attractive office space for up to ten full time
physicians, and for specialists who have office hours in Paris on a regular
basis. In addition, this relocation brought medical services together
in one centralized location, adding convenience for both the patients and
the physicians. It has also increased the community's awareness of
the health services offered in Paris,
